Building a sustainable tomorrow BAM are recruiting a Senior Tax Manager to join their team based in the Kill, Head Office.
Reporting to the Head of Tax (UK&I Division), you will have responsibility for Irish and UK VAT compliance and advisory matters.
The role is to develop the existing VAT reporting systems, processes and controls as well as provide VAT advice on complex areas and projects.
The Senior VAT Manager will oversee the preparation of and review of VAT, RCT, Intrastats and any other related indirect tax returns prepared by the shared service teams.
Making Possible Review and development of VAT compliance processes for BAM UK&I Division within the scope of local and international laws and requirements.
Engage with the business to build robust data management and control systems for VAT, RCT and Intrastats reporting.
Review and develop BAM UK&I Division's indirect tax policies and process documentation.
Oversee the preparation of and review of Irish and UK indirect tax returns prepared by the shared services team.
Provide indirect tax guidance and support to various stakeholders across the business, including the UK and Ireland and ensure guidance is consistently applied across the organization.
Advise on the indirect tax implications of business transactions involving multiple jurisdictions (for example, EU and third country cross border indirect tax issues, including customs duties).
Manage indirect tax communications with the Irish Revenue and HMRC.
Provide indirect tax advice on business transformation projects as required.
Closely monitor and respond appropriately to material Irish Government policy and legislative developments, ensuring implications are fully understood by stakeholders.
Play an active role as a member of the global tax team within the relationships of the group entities.
Partner with UK&I FP&A, business finance, legal, Treasury, accounting, and other functions to communicate, execute, protect, and fund various initiatives which aim to ultimately maximize cash for the Division and Group.
Collaborate and input into Irish tax advisory projects with the Group Tax Team.
Provide indirect tax related guidance to the Finance and Business teams and ensure guidance is being consistently applied across Segments.

What do you bring to the role?
We are looking for an experienced and motivated tax professional with a track-record of advising on indirect tax matters in a multinational and Irish business environment.
You are experienced, energized, capable, analytically, numerically strong individual and will ideally have some or all of the following: ACA or CTA (or equivalent) qualified with institute membership, with strong Irish and UK VAT knowledge and some RCT knowledge.
Technical Skills - Detailed understanding of indirect tax legislation, case laws and ability to apply tax legislation to practical situations.
Communication - An ability to communicate technical tax content in a clear and understandable way Helicopter approach - Ability to step back and see the big picture and if needed, drill down into the details.
Initiative - Acting at one's own initiative without being directed or encouraged by others.
Can do attitude - Identifying problems and tracking down potential causes; recognising important information and establishing a link between different data sets; drawing correct and realistic conclusions based on the available information; summarising outcomes and reporting against performance metrics.
