About Your New Job Working as an asssitant accountant, you will: Manage debtor collections: Monitor and escalate overdue accounts, prepare and communicate client statements, ensure payment commitments are agreed upon, investigate and resolve client account queries, respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries related to accounts receivable Invoicing: Prepare, verify, and carry out invoicing via electronic processing for multiple entities Bank Reconciliations: Prepare weekly bank reconciliations for multiple entities Supplier Invoices: Process supplier invoices and prepare electronic payments, monthly supplier reconciliations, and follow up on queries Year-End Management Accounts: Assist with preparation of year-end management accounts for multiple entities, including control account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journal postings, and detailed analysis of overheads VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in a timely and accurate manner Accounting System: Utilize Xero Accounting system to process transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate financial reports Ad-hoc Financial Projects: Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by management, contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency What Skills You Need Working as an accounts technician/accounts assistant you will need: Accounting Technicians of Ireland or equivalent Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Experience with year-end account preparation, budget creation, and variance analysis preferred Familiarity with VAT regulations and procedures, including experience in preparing and submitting VAT returns Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero system) and Microsoft Excel Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization Have a flexible approach and an ability to work on own initiative Whats on Offer Salary: up to 40k Assistance in progressing finance qualifications Life insurance Collaborative and supportive working environment Flexible working arrangements start/finish times Potential for career advancement within the company Whats Next Apply now by clicking the Apply Now" button or call us for more information.
