Health and Safety Consultant Role
About the Job
This role is focused on safeguarding project work from design to handover. You will be part of a team ensuring all stages of infrastructure delivery meet high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct pre-handover inspections to identify potential health and safety issues.
* Participate in design review workshops to integrate HSQE requirements into designs.
* Serve as Incident Liaison Officer for accidents/incidents, leading reviews and sharing insights.
* Represent HSQE standards at project kick-off meetings and advise project teams on safety expectations.
* Produce quarterly safety communications for contractors and stakeholders.
* Mentor influencers to foster a safety-conscious culture.
* Perform audits and inspections of contractors, suppliers, and internal facilities.
* Review HSQE competency assessments for contractors and local authority partners.
* Support external inspectors to ensure consistent HSQE inspection outcomes.
* Develop and roll out safety management systems training.
* Ensure regional processes align with current HSQE legislation and policy.
* Analyse regional safety incident data and develop action plans.
Requirements
You will have expertise in health and safety management, with strong analytical and communication skills.
A proven track record in implementing safety protocols and procedures is essential.
