Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior Reinsurance Technician to join our client, a global reinsurance company located in Dublin 2. Working as part of the Underwriting Services function, you will play a key role in delivering technical and operational support to the Underwriting, Finance, and Offshore teams. The position focuses on ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to service standards across all reinsurance operations.
Your Role
* Serve as the main point of contact for technical accounting matters, particularly cession processing, handling queries, and resolving issues efficiently.
* Review treaty documentation to confirm data integrity and accuracy of accounting records.
* Provide expert advice and guidance to internal teams, contributing to the smooth running of underwriting and finance operations.
* Manage all aspects of proportional treaty accounting, including cash calls, deposits, claim funds, and funds withheld.
* Oversee overdue premium reporting and assist with month-end close activities.
* Communicate with third parties to gather supporting documentation and validate submitted bordereaux.
* Conduct peer reviews, ensure compliance with internal controls, and support audit processes.
* Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
* Contribute to internal projects, testing, and knowledge sharing, including supporting new team members where required.
Your Skills
* At least 5 years' experience within the (re)insurance sector, ideally in a technical accounting, DUA, or treaty reinsurance environment.
* Comprehensive understanding of reinsurance principles, particularly treaty cession recording.
* Hands-on experience using SICS or similar systems would be highly beneficial.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a strong eye for detail.
* Proactive and self-motivated, able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Skilled in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel and Outlook.
* Professional qualification such as CII or equivalent would be an advantage.
