Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in preparing fee proposals and client proposals.
2. Oversee and undertake geotechnical design.
3. Manage and supervise junior engineers and projects.
4. Produce technical documents including desk studies, reports, specifications, drawings, and design reports.
5. Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance.
6. Participate in meetings, present, defend designs, and suggest alternatives.
7. Ensure technical quality, budget adherence, and schedule compliance.
8. Mentor graduate and design engineers and geologists.
9. Coordinate design deliverables with multidisciplinary teams.
Profile:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Essential:
* Minimum 2.1 Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field.
* At least 7+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in Ireland.
* Member of Engineers Ireland or relevant professional body.
* Chartered status or on track to achieve within 6-12 months.
* Experience in Irish ground conditions and investigation techniques.
* Excellent communication skills and team collaboration.
* Ability to review geotechnical design drawings and calculations.
* Strong knowledge of geotechnical design codes, soil-structure interaction, earthworks, ground treatment, and foundations.
* Experience in planning and supervising ground investigations and geotechnical reporting.
* Understanding of Eurocodes in geotechnical design.
* Committed to professional development.
* Valid driver’s license.
Desirable:
* MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology.
* Knowledge of Irish infrastructure design and reporting standards.
* Knowledge of BIM and tendering processes.
* Experience with value engineering and tendering.
