The Department Manager will motivate, coach, and develop teams, manage merchandising standards, and deliver on business strategies while safeguarding company assets and promoting the Brown Thomas Arnotts values.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and inspire the department team to deliver extraordinary customer service, meeting and exceeding NPS and sales targetsCommunicate and implement daily/weekly sales targets and strategies across the teamCoach and support team members in handling customer queries, returns, and loyalty programme engagementEnsure the team has full knowledge of CRM systems and compliance in customer data managementRecruit, onboard, and upskill team members, ensuring effective inductions and ongoing developmentRecognise, coach, and manage performance, reinforcing high standards and addressing underperformance fairlyMaintain merchandising standards and ensure stockrooms and shop floor areas are always organised, compliant, and commercialOversee promotional activity, signage, and ticketing, ensuring alignment with brand and company standardsManage operational processes, including stocktaking, transfers, markdowns, and returns, ensuring accuracy and timelinessMonitor and control department costs and resources, including stationery, utilities, and suppliesEnsure compliance with all security, audit, and loss prevention procedures, minimising shrinkageCollaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, including Head Office and concession partners, to optimise resultsAct as a role model of company values, embedding a culture of service, professionalism, and accountabilityKNOW WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORProven retail management experience, ideally in premium or luxury environmentsStrong leadership and coaching skills with experience managing diverse teamsDemonstrated ability to deliver results-focused sales and service performanceExcellent communication and influencing skills with confidence at all levelsStrong merchandising knowledge and commercial awarenessOrganisational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple prioritiesSkilled in problem-solving and decision-making under pressureProficiency in digital and POS systems with strong numerical abilityAbility to foster a culture of teamwork, inclusivity, and accountabilityProfessional, adaptable, and resilient under pressureFully flexible Monday to SundayKNOW WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOUWe believe that every team member should have the opportunity to curate a meaningful career that enhances professional and personal development.
