Purpose of the role:
The Clinical Specialist Radiographer in MRI will provide a high-quality, safe MRI service, working with another MRI CSR, to ensure optimal patient care using Siemens Aera 1.5T and Lumina 3T scanners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop work schedules for effective deployment of staff and resources, adjusting as case volumes and types change.
* Ensure MRI safety, develop local safety protocols, and provide safety advice on MRI procedures and equipment use.
* Train staff on safety protocols and risk assessment related to MRI procedures, contrast agents, implants, and foreign bodies.
* Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety policies.
* Write and review MRI protocols in collaboration with radiologists to reflect best practices.
* Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Develop patient information materials and participate in departmental training and research activities.
* Assist in recruitment, training, and leadership within the radiography team.
* Maintain equipment, oversee procurement, and participate in departmental audits and quality assurance programs.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and safety standards related to ionising radiation.
* Contribute to service development, including operational processes and resource management.
Qualifications & Experience required:
* Diploma from the College of Radiographers, or BSc in Radiography (Level 8), or equivalent validated qualification.
* At least 6 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
* Postgraduate MRI qualification recognised by IIRRT, with a minimum of 4 years practical experience, including specific MRI work and research components.
* State registration with CORU.

* Salary according to Department of Health scales, full-time, permanent, pensionable.
* Annual leave of 29 days, with working hours of 35 per week, hours between 8 am and 8 pm, across 7 days.
