Job Description:
We have a great opportunity for an MSAT Sr. Engineer (Process Analytics Chemometrician) to join our MSAT Process Analytics & Technology team.
The MSAT Sr. Engineer (Process Analytics Chemometrician) acts as a specialist with regards to process analytics and is a key member of the overall site MSAT team. The focus of the team is site implementation of process analytics including PAT (Process Analytical Technology), Chemometrics, Multi Variate Analysis (MVA), Raman, and Statistics. The role plays a support role in developing and implementing strategies for efficient process analysis and reporting tools.
The MSAT Sr. Engineer (Process Analytics Chemometrician) will apply skills in data analytics/ science to develop (multivariate/chemometric) models and assist the operations department in deploying models to avoid process excursions and enable process optimization, help in driving reliability, robustness, lower costs and help identify problems before they impact products or production schedules.
In addition, the MSAT Sr. Engineer (Process Analytics Chemometrician) will coordinate closely with fellow Process Analytics team members on site to deliver projects and will become a key member of the global Supply Chain Process Analytics program linking in with and collaborating with peers across other manufacturing sites within the internal and external network to bring value to Cork through scalable solutions.
The MSAT Sr. Engineer (Process Analytics Chemometrician) will enable the use of modelling in the manufacturing environment and will assess new opportunities, prioritizing and implementing modelling approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support technical data driven solutions.
* Act as a specialist in process analytics, focusing on PAT, Chemometric, MVA, Raman, and statistics
* Apply skills in data analytics/science to develop (chemometric/multivariate) models and assist the operations department in rolling out models which aim to avoid process excursions and enable process optimization, help in driving reliability, robustness, lower costs and help identify problems before they impact products or production
* Collaborate with the operations department to optimize processes and avoid process excursions
* Coordinate with the Process Analytics team to deliver projects and drive scalable solutions
* Assess new opportunities for modeling and prioritize implementation approaches
* Pull, clean, and merge data from internal systems to produce analysis‑ready datasets
* Perform statistical validation of multivariate/chemometric models, assessing robustness, accuracy, specificity, and stability, and prepare GxP-compliant validation reports.
Qualifications
Education:
* B.Sc/M.Sc. in an engineering and/or science subject area, with an emphasis on biologics (Ph.D. considered a plus)
Experience and Skills:
Required:
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Preferred:
* Proven experience in leading technical data-driven solutions
* Strong data analysis and reporting skills
* Good understanding of digital technologies and their application in current or new production processes / systems
* Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
* Knowledge of SIMCA is desirable
* Proficiency in SQL and Python and/or R coding
* GxP experience
* Excellent influencing and collaboration skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and a focus on achieving results
* Integrity, trustworthiness, and objectivity
