As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial operations for our start-up company.ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee the accounting operations for a group of companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting;Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation and review of financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements;Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation;Oversee VAT reporting and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filing of VAT returns;Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections;Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate matching of transactions and resolving discrepancies;Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely posting of transactions;Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries;Liaise with third-party service providers, such as banks and financial institutions, to manage company accounts and financial transactions;Provide financial insights and recommendations to management, supporting strategic decision-making.QualificationsBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field;3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably with exposure to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, audits, and tax filing;Fluency in English;Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial controls in the UK and Irish market;Familiarity with accounting practices and regulations in the German market would be a plus;Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software;Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills;Professional qualifications such as CAI (Chartered Accountant Ireland), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) are highly desirable.About usRichmond Blackwood helps high earning independents optimise their finances by leveling up from sole proprietaries to limited companies.
