About the Role
The Foster Care Manager will oversee all referrals for a care group providing fostering and supported lodging services to children and young people referred by TUSLA. The successful candidate will develop pathways to achieve placements through building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
As the first point of contact between the care group, Tusla, foster families and Social Workers, you must build and nurture positive relationships with colleagues, foster carers and other stakeholders while communicating confidently with professionals at all levels.
An excellent understanding of the children's services sector and key requirements in child protection and screening is essential.
* Maintain and develop relationships with external stakeholders such as Tusla through a business development approach.
* Manage the placement of children/young people following childcare legislation and regulations, child protection procedures, and the Children's First Act.
* Develop a responsive quality led referral service through sourcing and managing foster care vacancies in line with organisational objectives.
* Provide strong leadership through effective management and supervision of all referrals.
* Build positive relationships with children, young people, and families.
This hybrid role involves travel and requires a valid full driver's license and access to an own vehicle.
Candidates who have experience in the foster care field or working therapeutically with children may be particularly welcomed.
Key skills include excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, high standard report writing skills, computer literacy, pro-activity, dynamism, ability to work independently and handle changing priorities.
