Position: Trainee Accountant Trainee Contract - 24 to 36 months (Depending on qualification stage) Monday to Friday (8.30am - 5.00pm) Location - Office based role in SONAS, Ballycoolin, Dublin 15 Salary - €26,000 - €30,000 p.a., depending on experience. About the Role: The Trainee Accountant will report to the Financial Accountant with a dotted line to the Financial Controller. They will play a key role in supporting the finance team's day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone starting their professional accounting career, providing hands-on exposure to financial processes and monthly reporting while supporting ongoing process improvements. Key Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger by recording transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Help in processing and reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Prepare bank reconciliations and manage daily banking. Assist with month-end tasks, including preparing basic schedules and reconciliations. Assist in monitoring and analysing expenses to ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines. Support with tax and regulatory compliance and returns. Maintain and update the fixed asset register. Payroll Administration. Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Provide data for management reports and KPI dashboards (Excel/Power BI). Collaborate with AP and AR teams to resolve queries. Provide cover for AP and AR tasks when required. Assist in ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting. Work closely with the Financial Accountant to learn core accounting processes and develop technical skills. Skills & Qualifications: Degree in Accounting/Finance or currently pursuing a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, etc.). Experience not essential but experience in an office or accountancy environment is an advantage. Payroll experience is desirable but not essential. Good Excel Skills.
