Main Duties and Responsibilities:The main duties and responsibilities of the Electrical Design Engineer are outlined as follows:Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability & Quality standards, policies, and procedures are incorporated into all designs and outputs.Collaborate with other engineering disciplines such as Process, Mechanical, Control & Automation, Civil, and Structural to develop optimal design solutions.Report to the Electrical Department Manager; design tasks include compiling and reviewing site surveys, condition reports, M&I Listings, electrical load balances, MIC load calculations, medium voltage design, generator sizing, general electrical services, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, cable sizing, control panel schematics, harmonic mitigation reports, solar PV, battery storage, and renewable generators.Conduct site surveys and preliminary assessments of existing infrastructure/assets.Procure packages for LV and MV works, including main distribution boards, transformers, switchgear, and specialist design services.Manage third-party design consultants; review tenders for technical compliance and value for money; recommend procurement decisions.Ensure smooth handover to site teams, addressing design comments and queries.Assist in tender preparation and pricing for electrical projects.Promote strategic themes such as off-site manufacturing, digitalization, and sustainability within the team.Encourage innovative technologies and risk mitigation during the design lifecycle.Adhere to local asset and electrical standards, WIMES, and stay updated through CPD.Perform other duties as required.For specific projects, the candidate will also serve as Electrical Project Engineer on-site, responsible for:Maintaining health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards on-site.Managing electrical scope delivery, procurement, supervision, commissioning, and handover.Coordinating with project stakeholders and managing site personnel and subcontractors.Ensuring compliance with design, materials, workmanship, and contract requirements.Conducting quality checks and preparing project handover documentation.Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Degree in Electrical Engineering (Level 7/8).Minimum 3 years' experience, preferably in Water & Wastewater sectors.Excellent communication, planning, organizational, teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk, and knowledge of Trimble ProDesign or ETAP.Full clean driving license.What we offer:Opportunity to join a growing organization.Monday to Friday workweek with early finish on Fridays.22 days annual leave plus bank holidays.Competitive salary.Access to confidential employee counseling services.At Glanua, we value diversity and are committed to equal opportunities.
