Fire Safety Engineer
Location: Galway
We offer a competitive remuneration package, circa €55,000 - €60,000 per annum, plus benefits including mileage and expenses, 30 days annual leave, and a 35 hour working week, Monday to Friday.
As a Fire Prevention Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations and protecting staff, patients, and the public in all medical facility premises in the Galway area. This includes providing risk management advice, conducting inspections, ensuring fire safety equipment is functional, and developing and implementing fire safety plans.
This position would suit individuals with experience in:

Key Responsibilities:
1. Regularly inspect fire safety equipment, means of escape, and premises to ensure compliance with regulations.
2. Develop and review fire safety orders, evacuation plans, and fire drills for various buildings
3. Provide staff training on fire hazards, equipment use, evacuation procedures, and fire prevention.
4. Ensure the fire-fighting water supply is adequate and hydrants are clearly marked.
5. Monitor and advise on the implementation of fire safety regulations, including the Fire Services Act and Health Technical Memorandum 05.
6. Conduct fire safety audits, report any breaches, and assist in setting up emergency plans.
7. Collaborate with management on health, safety, and fire prevention training, and advise on risk assessments for fire and infrastructural risks.
8. Regularly report on fire safety performance and maintain accurate records of inspections and incidents.
Requirements:
* Level 7 qualification in Fire Engineering, Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a fire safety role.
* Technical knowledge of fire safety regulations and risk assessments.
* Familiarity with the construction and maintenance of buildings and fire safety systems.
