Role Overview
Impact Engineering is supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation in Dublin to hire an Automation IT Systems Administrator on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing production IT and OT infrastructure, including security, performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. The role ensures optimal performance and availability of ICT infrastructure, systems, and key manufacturing processes, while also acting as an escalation point for issues and incidents.
Reporting to the Site Automation Infrastructure Lead, the Automation IT Systems Administrator will join a team of specialists supporting automation and manufacturing operations within a highly regulated, GMP environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage production IT and OT infrastructure to ensure system performance and availability
* Be solutions orientated, delivery focused, and proactive in supporting manufacturing operations
* Work effectively both independently and as part of project teams
* Maintain software and hardware in accordance with site standards and Good Engineering Practice in a continually audited environment
* Monitor key OT systems and perform preventative maintenance
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across OT systems
* Support user account and access management
* Provide technical support to Engineering and Operations teams for automated systems
* Support the department in being continuously audit and inspection ready
* Contribute to documentation and SOPs associated with automated systems
* Develop technical knowledge of automation and OT systems across the site
* Support biannual and periodic system reviews
* Participate in automation continuous improvement initiatives
* Provide on-call support to manufacturing operations
* Carry out additional activities as directed by the Site Automation OT Lead
Required Experience & Skills
* Minimum of 3 years' experience supporting customers through a ticketing system
* Minimum of 3 years' experience working in the life sciences industry
* Experience with Active Directory account administration
* Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Client operating systems
* Core IT skills including:
* Virtualisation
* Database administration
* Networking
* Programming or scripting experience (C#, PowerShell, SQL) is an advantage
* Systems integration or interfacing experience on control systems and wider production systems is a plus
* Experience supporting DCS, SCADA, and benchtop systems in a manufacturing environment is an advantage
* Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. CompTIA, CCNA, DeltaV Systems Administration) or equivalent hands-on industry experience
