Residential Care Worker

You will work within a team to facilitate excellent practice and help rebuild children’s lives. Our vision is for every young person to experience a safe, happy, and nurturing environment, with a future filled with hope and optimism.
About The Role
* Cultivate genuine and caring connections with young people, interacting with dignity and respect, and promoting unconditional positive regard.
* Contribute to maintaining a welcoming, safe, caring, stable, and therapeutic environment.
* Advocate for the rights and responsibilities of each young person, promoting their physical, emotional, social, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual wellbeing.
* Ensure young people are protected from abuse and report concerns according to policy.
* Supervise outings and undertake household activities like cooking and cleaning as positive modeling.
* Participate actively in the Model of Therapeutic Care.
* Support challenging behaviors physically when needed.
* Provide emotional support and encourage participation in care and placement planning.
* Apply understanding of youth trauma through specialized training.
* Collaborate with support networks including social workers, educators, guardians, and family.
* Work effectively within a team, engaging in communication, feedback, and planning.
* Maintain consistency in childcare plans.
* Accurately record and report in line with statutory requirements and policies.
* Handle key worker duties including managing petty cash and serving as a primary contact.
* Engage in community activities and agency partnerships.
This role involves sleepover shifts.

Desired and Required Criteria
* Level 8 qualification (Honours degree) in Psychology or related field.
* Ability to work in regulated activities, supervise young persons.
* Full clean driving license.
