The Role:
Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business. IT Operations is responsible for all operational run activities across Applications, Service Management and Infrastructure. The IT Infrastructure team is responsible for IT infrastructure services to the business across a wide range of functions including maintenance of existing systems and IT infrastructure, release management, configuration management, IT disaster recovery, vendor management, security infrastructure management, IT standards compliance and quality assurance. The team guide resources, facilitate team demand management and capacity planning, and manage the sequencing and operational interdependencies of all IT Operations related initiatives. The infrastructure team also manages the data centres and IT infrastructure for UÉ, including IT availability and IT continuity
Reporting to the Database Administrator Technical Lead, the Database Environment Analyst will be responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance, and optimisation of the organisation's core enterprise application portfolio. This includes key platforms, but not limited to, Oracle E Business Suite, Oracle C2M and Oracle Fusion Middleware, ensuring they operate reliably, securely, and in alignment with business and technical requirements
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support the maintenance of a portfolio of business-critical applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle C2M and Oracle Fusion Middleware.
* Work as part of a team of professional internal and contractual resources to successfully deliver business and system upgrade and enhancement projects
* Proactively suggest and, if necessary, implement database and application patches, new releases and actively contribute to future system design and direction
* Maintain automation of ongoing administration and maintenance tasks
* Maintain multiple testing environments for each application set
* Capacity planning, monitoring, auditing, and making recommendations for database/application performance optimisation
* Contributing to the preparation, enhancements and maintenance of systems development standards and guidelines as well as the maintenance of environment change logs
* Adherence to Uisce Éireann IT policies and procedures including:
Database contingency planning and implementation
Corporate database licensing and compliance
Corporate security
* Ensuring that system risks and issues are proactively managed
* Provide out-of-hours cover as part of the Standby Rota and participate in out of hours work as required.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business, including but not limited to;
IT Teams, notably the Service Management, Applications and Build & Delivery teams
Project stakeholders across the Business
* Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
* Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
* Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation
* Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Preferred experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite of Applications.
* Preferred experience with Database Application Middleware
* Preferred experience with SQLServer.
* Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
* Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
* Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others
* Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
* Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
* Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
