Key Responsibilities
* Set objectives and strategies for the IT department, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
* Select and implement technologies to improve business operations using cloud solutions or on-premise infrastructure as appropriate, focusing on scalability and security.
* Ensure information stack security including hosting, network, servers, storage, backup, end-user devices, and applications, adhering to industry best practices and regulations.
* Select and manage IT suppliers and partners, negotiating contracts and optimizing costs.
* Develop, review, and certify backup and disaster recovery procedures and plans, minimizing downtime and data loss.
* Oversee IT technological infrastructure ensuring optimal performance, monitoring system health and implementing necessary upgrades.
* Plan new solution implementation and provide guidance to the IT team and managed service partners, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
* Prepare annual budget for the IT department, including IT equipment and software purchases, balancing resources and strategic investments.
* Monitor technology advancements to discover competitive advantage opportunities, staying ahead of industry trends.
* Analyze information technology costs, value, and risks to advise the board on suggested actions, providing data-driven insights.
Experience & Skills Required
* Proven experience in a Head of IT or similar managerial role, leading high-performing teams and driving business outcomes.
* Excellent knowledge of infrastructure, security, and ERP systems, with expertise in cloud solutions and IT operations management.
* Experience in strategic planning and execution, with a track record of delivering complex projects and initiatives.
* Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management, with ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
* Understanding of IT hardware and software, cloud solutions, and information technology operations management, with proficiency in design and development of IT systems.
* Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation, with focus on scalability, security, and user experience.
* Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
* Strong strategic and business mindset, with ability to align IT strategy with overall business goals and objectives.
* Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and team members.
