20 Months, Fixed Term Full-Time Post Position Summary Applications are sought from Ph D graduates with experience in synthetic organic chemistry to undertake an exciting research project in the development of novel synthetic methodology to access conformationally constrained spiro products in collaboration with Pfizer.The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.The successful candidate will join an active research team in UCC with experience in enantioselective catalysis especially in relation to transformations of diazocarbonyl compounds, and a strong track record in successful collaboration with the pharmaceutical sector.The successful candidate will gain valuable insight into development of novel synthetic methodology of relevance to drug discovery programmes.This strategically important collaborative project will be undertaken in University College Cork in partnership with Pfizer Discovery Scientists in Groton and La Jolla, US and chemists at the Pfizer Ringaskiddy site in Cork, and SSPC, the Research Ireland Centre for Pharmaceuticals.Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI's.This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher.Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEI Researcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association Project Title: Improved Synthesis of Spiro[2.5]octane Esters Post Duration: 20 Months, Full-Time Post Salary: €46,306
