Post Summary: Reporting to the Deputy Head, Readers Services (Teaching, Research and User Experience), the Subject Librarian works as part of a team to design, deliver, coordinate, and assess a range of learning activities for the development of digital and information literacies across the university. They provide dedicated support to undergraduate and postgraduate students and researchers and staff in The Faculty of Health Sciences and The Faculty of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. They implement innovative pedagogical practices, both in person and online, that are impactful and deliver an excellent learner experience. The Subject Librarian progresses the strategic aims of the Library and contributes to the Universitys teaching and learning strategy. Post status: Specific Purpose Contract Your employment is for the specific purpose of filling an Assistant Librarian 2 vacancy to cover the reduced hours of the permanent post holder. Employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the original postholder is expected to return to fulltime hours. If the postholder does not return to work the post will be filled through open competition. Hours of Post: Part-Time (0.6 FTE) Salary: This appointment will be made on the Assistant Librarian 2 Full Salary Scale (€46,242 - €63,550 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales.
