Your new role
As a Credit Underwriter, you will play a critical role in the successful day-to-day operations of the Underwriting Department. Reporting directly to the Underwriting Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Making credit decisions on potential customers introduced by group retailers, ensuring adherence to retail policy, procedures, and guidelines.
2. Contributing to process and system improvements.
3. Underwriting retail and lease finance applications within delegated authority.
4. Controlling the quality of approved business.
5. Making recommendations on applications above delegated authority.
6. Preparing credit applications for presentation to the credit committee.
7. Collaborating with colleagues and establishing relationships with key stakeholders.
8. Performing other ad-hoc duties as required.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* A financial services qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
* FCCC compliance with Minimum Competency Requirements (MCR) as per the Financial Regulator.
* At least 3 years of underwriting experience.
* Strong analytical and technical knowledge.
* Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly MS Excel.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken).
