Commissioning Engineer, HV Projects
Location: Hybrid, Ireland
Scope of Work: A key role in a growing team that will lead commissioning activities on complex high voltage infrastructure works across Ireland.
Turner Lovell is recruiting a Commissioning Engineer to join a global leader in sustainable energy and power grid technologies in Ireland, offering a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join the leader in their specialism. You will be responsible for planning, preparing and coordinating pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities leading to project completion. You will manage projects and processes, working independently with limited supervision, whilst also coaching and reviewing the work of more junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Developing and ensuring adherence to a detailed commissioning schedule and plan, covering all aspects of pre-commissioning and start-up phases through to handover.
Preparing and updating a comprehensive commissioning manual.
Developing a reporting structure and accountabilities for the commissioning team.
Planning and coordinating the commissioning and start up schedule and necessary work with third party providers; developing pre-commissioning test procedures and documentation; and correcting any deficiencies found.
Ensuring compliance and progress reports are produced in accordance with client and legislative requirements; liaising with government agencies where required to obtain necessary approvals prior to start-up.
Preparing client acceptance forms and ensuring satisfactory sign-off is obtained.
Developing comprehensive quality, environment and safety commissioning plans.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Experience in the commissioning of high-voltage substations.
Proactive, result-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as reliability and ability to work under pressure.
Skilled communicator who can interface with numerous external and internal parties and stakeholders at all levels in a multi-cultural environment.
Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools.
Strong commitment to safe work practices and a high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
