Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Care Worker to join our residential care team in Maynooth. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities, focusing on their health, wellbeing, and independence in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality care in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and organizational policies.
* Promote dignity, respect, and recovery-focused support for individuals and their families.
* Create a safe, therapeutic environment that supports each resident's development.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement, and review individualized care and placement plans.
* Actively involve service users in decisions affecting their lives and care.
* Assist with daily living activities including meal preparation, household tasks, and personal organization.
* Attend and contribute to team and care planning meetings; liaise with families and external agencies.
* Promote service users' rights and well-being across emotional, physical, social, cultural, and spiritual domains.
* Support attendance at medical appointments, training, and social activities – providing transport as required.
* Conduct and update risk assessments to ensure the safety of service users and staff.
* Respond appropriately to crises, including the use of approved intervention techniques when needed.
* Maintain accurate records and provide updates on progress both verbally and in writing.
* Serve as a keyworker to assigned residents and provide support through transitions or referrals.
* Maintain professionalism and compassion in all interactions.
* Provide information, guidance, and emotional support to family members as appropriate.
Qualifications & Requirements
* A recognized qualification in Social Care, Psychology, or a related field (minimum Level 7 NFQ).
* Registration (or eligibility for registration) with CORU – including recognition of international qualifications where applicable.
* Minimum 1 year's experience in social care (preferably with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or complex needs).
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
* Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting others.
* Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and overnights.
* Legal authorization to work in Ireland is required.
