People Operations Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced People Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you will be responsible for fostering a positive work culture through effective employee engagement initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
* Foster a positive work culture through effective employee engagement initiatives
* Identify training and development needs in collaboration with department heads
* Support and enhance our performance management systems
* Provide HR guidance and support to all staff and management levels
* Maintain and manage our HR system and employee database
* Administer recruitment processes, including interview panel participation
* Draft employment contracts for staff and players
* Coordinate work permit applications and renewals
* Collaborate with governing bodies on HR matters such as onboarding and offboarding
* Oversee the entire employee lifecycle
* Advise on statutory leave entitlements (e.g., maternity, paternity, parental, sick leave)
* Administer and manage employee benefit programmes
* Monitor employment legislation and implement policy updates accordingly
* Clearly communicate HR initiatives and policy changes
* Liaise with external HR and payroll partners on employee matters
* Process monthly payroll amendments with the Finance team
* Act as the key contact for industrial and employee relations
* Support player development managers on HR-related issues
* Lead or contribute to HR project work and new initiatives
Requirements
* Degree or postgraduate diploma in a relevant business discipline
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Head of HR/People & Development role
* Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
* Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR practices
* Experienced in coaching and mentoring
* Proficiency with HR systems and tools
* Membership of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development)
