JOB PURPOSE:The role predominantly based on the production floor focuses on inspecting product and conforming to release procedures to ensure:All goods released are fit for purpose and adhere to the customer specificationCustomer quality expectations are met in full by completing sample checks and relevant sign off checks and communicating, recording and investigating as appropriate quality related non conformances.Ensuring commitment to following Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 & PS and the company's best practice quality and safety procedures.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:To complete all final inspection duties and associated administrative tasks to release goods on VWT as per customer specificationsTo understand, operate and adhere to the documented quality system operating proceduresTo provide in process testing in accordance with SOP's and customer specificationsTo manufacture and control colour standardsTo monitor and action calibration requirementsTo use metrology equipment in line with customer specifications and monitor, measure and record resultsTo carry out patrols and spot checks as required to support the identification of non-conforming productsTo ensure existing technology is being optimised and used effectively to support the manufacture of good quality product i.e. Barcode scans, electronic work tickets signed and dated correctly)To ensure discrepancies are recorded and brought immediately to the attention of relevant supervisors and managersTo support and advise all production departments of acceptable quality standards, making quality judgments taking into account individual customer quality requirements and follow due processes to prevent release of non conforming productTo review quarantined product and co-ordinate the 100% inspection of product as and when requiredEnsure appropriate records are maintained and reports compiledTo promote good manufacturing practice and champion good housekeeping standards through routine inspectionsTo train in new systems of work following changes to systems of working caused by production or customer specification changes and ensure adherence within production processesSupport the review of current processes and support in updating standard operating procedures and support ongoing accreditation standardsTo assist with non conformance investigations and quality complaints in the drafting and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as requiredTo assist in other areas of the business as requiredParticipate in continuous development and trainingThis list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and Westrock would expect you to carry out any other reasonable duty which you are capable of being trained in or performing.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCEKnowledge of the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare market requirements is essentialFamiliar with ISO 9001:2008 & PS quality standards and procedures.An understanding of acceptable quality levels for each customerKnowledge of GMP and common conversion problems/faultsSound process knowledge in a production environment and experience in a quality function is essentialThe ability to work with minimal supervisionBasic computer skillsWilling to learn new skillsMethodical approach to undertaking tasksProblem solving skillsCORE COMPETENCIES:Communication – Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customersDetermination – Ability to overcome obstaclesInfluence/Persuasiveness – Ability to influence and inspire others to actBe able to be self motivated, standards driven, with a keen eye for detail and be computer literateAbility to use own initiative and lead by exampleAbility to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlinesAttention to detail and the ability to sort and input information with accuracy and speedMethodical approachGood communicator with excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to respond to pressure whilst maintaining focus and attention to detailProblem solving skillsBEHAVIOURS:InitiativeThoroughness and a concern for standardsEfficiency focussedAttention to detailResults focusedOTHER REQUIREMENTSThis role requires flexibility and is shift basedFlexible and adaptable to change and prepared to take on additional responsibilities with other duties as required to meet business needs.
