JOB TITLE:Quality ManagerReporting to:Group Technical ManagerLocation:NenaghBusiness Sector:Dairy IngredientsRole Purpose:Ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained across the Dairy Ingredients site in Nenagh. Drive a 'right first time' culture and performance in the plant by ensuring that processes and operations meet customer and regulatory requirements. A key deliverable is reducing the occurrence of defects against the quality standard. The role collaborates with plant stakeholders to continuously improve performance to the quality standard and to drive all quality-relevant Corrective and Preventative actions to timely and effective completion.Area of Responsibility: Dairy Ingredients SiteResponsibilities:Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:Manage the Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS) in compliance with the BRCGS Food Safety Standard / other relevant standards for the site.Manage the internal audits schedule and CAPA for the site.Act as HACCP, VACCP and TACCP Team leader for the site.Manage all customer technical requirements and ensure customer site audits are compliant with the relevant standards for the site.Lead & Support troubleshooting of Food safety & quality issues for the site in collaboration with Department Managers and Operators to ensure Quality Right First-time metrics are achieved. Implement mitigation measures to control identified hazards.Manage all non-conformances for the site and ensure timely investigation, escalation and resolution with effective CAPA implementation and verification for all process deviations.Organize and participate in regular food safety and quality team meetings to enhance collaboration and awareness.Manage customer complaints for the site, approval of analysis reports and analysis of complaint trends.Collate & report on KPI metrics to senior management for the site.Support regulatory compliance and liaise with DAFM / other regulatory bodies as required.Drive a positive Food Safety culture on site with a continuous improvement ethos.Delegate duties & responsibilities as appropriate to direct reports and foster a continuous development approach for all direct reports.Support and deputise for colleagues in Quality Management as required.Drive the highest standards of food safety and quality for the site.Qualifications required for this role:Role-relevant experience in a large Dairy, Food or Pharmaceutical company in Quality Assurance, Food Safety & Process Improvement in a quality / operational environmentDegree in Food Science or equivalent.Experience with customer and regulatory audits.Key Skills/Core Competencies/Behaviours:Strong people management & Leadership skills.High motivation and ability to work on own initiative.Strong knowledge of quality principles and the ability to implement these in manufacturing environmentsAbility to develop positive working relationships at all levels of the business and with external stakeholdersStrong organizational skills with the ability to self-manage and prioritise as required.Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to proactively collaborate effectively across teams.Strong attention to detail.
