Job Description
What you can expect
Health & Safety Leadership
Act as the company’s subject matter expert on all Health & Safety matters.
Lead the development and continuous improvement of the HSE management system.
Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership regarding risk, compliance, and safety performance.
Risk Management & Compliance
Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections across all logistics sites.
Ensure compliance with the IE HSA legislation (e.g., Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, Reporting of Accidents and Dangerous Occurrences, Use of Work Equipment).
Maintain accurate records of incidents, near‑misses, and corrective actions.
Coordinate external audits and regulatory inspections.
Incident Investigation & Reporting
Lead thorough investigations into accidents and near‑misses.
Identify root causes and implement corrective/preventative actions.
Produce detailed reports and trend analysis for management review.
Training & Culture
Develop and deliver Health & Safety training programmes for warehouse, transport and office staff.
Promote proactive safety behaviours and a positive safety culture.
Support managers in coaching teams on safe working practices.
Logistics Operations Support
Oversee safe systems of work for warehouse operations, including manual handling, FLT operations, vehicle movements and loading/unloading activities.
Ensure transport safety compliance, including driver welfare, tachograph rules and vehicle checks.
Monitor contractor safety and compliance.
Emergency Preparedness
Develop site emergency response plans.
Lead fire safety compliance, including drills, training and maintenance of equipment.
Coordinate business continuity planning related to safety risks.
What you bring
Essential
Experience & Qualifications
Level 5 NFQ General Certificate (or equivalent).
Proven experience in Health & Safety management within logistics, warehousing, supply chain or transport.
Strong knowledge of IE health and safety legislation and standards.
Excellent communication, influencing and problem‑solving skills.
Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
Desirable
NEBOSH Diploma or working toward it.
Experience with ISO standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
Experience implementing safety systems in multi‑site environments.
