Orange Recruitment are seeking a skilled Mechanical Tender Engineer to join our client's expanding Building Services team in Dublin. In this role, you will be responsible for developing accurate, well-structured, and technically sound tender submissions for mechanical packages across sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and energy projects. As a Mechanical Tender Engineer, you will work closely with mechanical design engineers, project managers, and a trusted network of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure each tender reflects the company's technical capability, commercial competitiveness, and commitment to quality. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to gain exposure to complex mechanical systems while contributing to the success of major building services projects. Responsibilities: Prepare detailed mechanical tender proposals, ensuring all system components HVAC, ductwork, pipework, plant, public health systems, and specialist mechanical installations are accurately assessed and scoped. Analyse tender drawings, technical specifications, schedules, schematics, and design documentation to identify all mechanical requirements and interfaces. Work with mechanical design and project engineering teams to develop robust, buildable design solutions and provide input into value engineering opportunities. Source, review, and assess mechanical subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure technical compliance, cost competitiveness, and alignment with project specifications. Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market pricing, mechanical plant options, installation methods, material costs, and industry standards. Prepare tender clarifications, technical submissions, risk registers, and supporting documentation in accordance with company tender procedures. Contribute to tender handover meetings by providing clear technical and commercial breakdowns to project delivery teams post-award. Build strong internal and external relationships, ensuring clear communication throughout the tender process. Requirements: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years' experience in mechanical tendering, estimating, design, or a similar building services engineering role. Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services systems, plant selections, installation requirements, and industry best practice. Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail when reviewing technical documents and tender specifications. Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively with design teams, project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Proficiency in tendering and estimating software, digital measurement tools, and Microsoft Office applications. A proactive, methodical approach with the ability to work to strict tender deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
