Role Summary
The Procurement Specialist at Capital Switchgear is the link between Engineering and Production, and critical in getting a product from the design stage to where our team can physically build it.
Reporting to the Process Manager, and working closely with procurement, stores and logistics, you ensure all parts and consumables are ordered and delivered to the workshop to facilitate Production deadlines.

Roles and Responsibilities
Procurement:
Own and be responsible for the procurement requirements of your assigned projects, delivering these in line with the approved SOPs in place at any given time.
Implement procurement processes to meet Production requirements in a timely manner.
Create Bill of Materials (BOMs) on SAP Business One.
Review Purchase Requests and raise Purchase Orders using appropriate systems.
Select suppliers and process orders, confirming pricing and delivery dates.
Monitor delivery deadlines and lead times, escalating potential issues or delays in advance to allow time for alternative plans to be implemented.
Check deliveries and stock to ensure required materials are available for your assigned projects to meet Production timelines.
Proactively follow on potential delays to mitigate risk of supply chain disruptions and minimise any negative impact on Production.
Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with suppliers, monitoring performance, negotiating on rates and providing feedback as needed.
Deliver accurate material requirements planning (MRP) per project, ordering as needed to maintain target stock levels and prevent shortages or over-stocking.
Maintain accurate Item Master Data for components and consumables, ensuring accurate pricing and lead-time data is in place, and identifying secondary suppliers where possible.
Support the Sales team in preparing accurate customer quotations as requested.
Provide regular updates to your manager and to colleagues in Engineering, Stores and Production, highlighting any issues, risks or delays immediately.
General:
Proactively identify issues and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhere to standard internal procedures and accurately complete all documentation.
Maintain a safe and tidy work environment, and ensure that strict Health & Safety and environmental guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Build strong working relationships with colleagues, working well as a cohesive team.
Deliver duties in a professional, with confidentiality and discretion.
Complete all assigned training as required for your role and to enhance your skills.
Support as needed if requested to carry out other duties within the business.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a procurement role.
Previous experience of delivering procurement duties in a manufacturing setting.
Knowledge of the switchgear industry would be a distinct advantage.
Certification/qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or a related field would be beneficial.
Experience of working with a recognised ERP system, preferably SAP Business One.
Proficient in standard Microsoft applications.
Excellent attention to detail and precision is essential.
Strong work ethic, and able to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Comfortable in following standard operating procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Committed, resilient professional who shows integrity and drive in everything they do.
Knowledge of standard Finance processes (outside procurement) is desirable.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
Eligible to work in Ireland (with current valid work permit if needed).
Other details
Full-time, permanent position, onsite in our office in Rathcoole, Co Dublin.
Occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines or deal with client requirements.
Salary range €*****k, depending on experience.
