Responsibilities
Work as part of a team to safely deliver projects, adopting a "one team" culture.
Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are adhered to on site.
Instill a positive Health and Safety culture within the team.
Maintain compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and stay aware of legislative changes and industry standards.
Provide on‑site HSQE presence during construction and operations to ensure HSQE controls, mitigation measures are implemented, maintained and performance monitored.
Assist senior advisors in developing Site Construction Stage plans, traffic management, waste management, etc. and monitor their implementation.
Ensure the Company carries out the duties of PD, PC and Contractor.
Ensure all internal and external EHS reporting requirements are complied with.
Monitor and report on the collection, recording, analysis, implementation of actions taken and feedback provided to hazards identified during weekly inspections/audits through our online management system.
Conduct accident/incident investigations in a timely manner with the support of the project team and make recommendations to management.
Obtain and review safety documentation from clients, suppliers and subcontractors; ensure subcontractors are briefed and aware of the Company’s Plan and required project‑specific safety statements before appointment.
Review, revise and update the Plan in light of subcontractors’ information, progress of work, receipt of new design information and occurrence of incidents or accidents.
Implement the Plan and monitor compliance of Company personnel and subcontractors against the Plan.
Report any safety, health or welfare issues to the Contract Manager, Site Agent/foreman for action before leaving site.
Advise site management on suitability and adequacy of safety and health provisions, safe working methods, safety of equipment and validity of test certificates.
Maintain all site safety documentation in conjunction with the site team.
Plan and conduct safety inductions and briefings of Company and subcontractor personnel as detailed in the Safety and Health Plan for each project.
Carry out site inspections and generate reports; liaise with external parties relating to HSQE; ensure ISO (9001, 45001, 14001) compliance.
Assess training needs of employees, ensure training requirements are identified prior to new projects and communicate them to the HSQE Manager.
Perform other duties as required from time to time.
Qualifications
Minimum Level 7 or higher qualification in Health and Safety.
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
Safe Pass, Manual Handling, First Aid training required.
Experience with Civils, M&E and Temporary works an advantage.
Lifting experience and confined space experience an advantage.
Extensive knowledge of Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Legislation, Regulations and Best Practice.
Strong influence and champion of best practice.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and competence in new technologies (Mobile Apps).
Full Driving License.
