Scope of the Role
As a key member of our team, you will oversee project execution for fire protection systems.
You will report to the Operations Manager and establish specific objectives for your project elements aligned with overall project goals.
In this position, you are responsible for delivering the scope of work as described in design documents/specifications, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
You will also serve as a coach/mentor to junior personnel in your team.
Directly managing trades personnel, you will ensure efficient workflow and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish detailed project scope.
* Manage project changes with exceptional diligence.
* Ensure a verifiable paper trail exists for all changes.
* Be the primary driver of weekly and daily work plans.
* Work with the design team to ensure timely availability of materials, designs, and equipment.
* Develop a schedule to meet client needs and deliver milestones ahead of schedule.
* Have a thorough understanding of the project scope and design.
* Work with the Client, Main Contractor, and Design Department to clarify design deliverables and ensure design schedules are met.
The Fire Protection Team will build and monitor the schedule with you, with you owning the execution of works to meet that schedule.
You and/or your team will work with planners to develop a 'Last Planner' level of detail schedule.
Ensure that all foremen and supervisors under your control manage hours allocation to ensure a maximum S/E of 0.95.
Manage and control internal and external reporting of projects.
Update S-Curves for progress reporting.
Ensure 0.99% right first time on all works.
Ensure every member of your team has the required training to deliver project requirements.
Commit to the IFW philosophy on site.
Role model safe working practices and ensure leadership team members do the same.
Project Controls Skills - demonstrate a full and thorough understanding of project delivery start-up and ramp; execution; ramp down; scope change control.
Quality and safety indicators must be reported in line with overall programme indicators and reflect performance of individual foremen and supervisors.
Your quality goals align with overall project goals.
People/Team Skills - know when to delegate; demonstrate strategic and tactical goals for your area with associated goals/targets and supporting indicators.
Understand basic financial concepts to manage money within a project.
Integrate ideas and personalities effectively.
Essential Criteria for the Role
* 5-7 years' experience working with a recognized contractor and multi-disciplinary construction teams.
* A trade and/or relevant third-level qualification - mechanical Sprinkler and Fire Protection experience and exposure required.
* Demonstrated capability in Construction delivery within specialized industrial sectors.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety.
* Proven ability to understand and contribute to project implementation for construction projects.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work well within strict deadlines.
