Based in Kildare, this is a standout opportunity to work with one of Ireland’s most established and future-focused companies, delivering EIAR and Appropriate Assessments on a wide portfolio of renewable energy infrastructure projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities for Environmental Specialist (Hybrid)
* Lead the full EIA process, delivering EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale renewable energy projects.
* Provide environmental planning expertise to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and policy.
* Keep updated on environmental legislation and planning developments at local and national level.
* Support stakeholder engagement and consultations with local communities, statutory and non-statutory bodies.
* Prepare technical scopes for third-party services and assist with procurement processes.
* Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices across all projects.
* Mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous professional development within the team.
* Collaborate with colleagues across Planning, Engineering and Senior Management to meet strategic business goals.
Requirements for Environmental Specialist (Hybrid)
* Level 8 Honours Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline (essential).
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering EIAR and AA/NIS for major infrastructure projects.
* Strong understanding of Irish planning law and environmental regulations.
* Previous experience managing multidisciplinary teams in the EIA process.
* Experience in renewables, SID projects, or environmental consultancy is highly desirable.
* Postgraduate qualification and/or technical discipline (e.g. ecology, air quality, etc.) an advantage but not essential.
* Strong communication, project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
