The role
SUMMARY
Security Officer (or Security Guard) ensures the safety of the area they are assigned to watch. Duties include monitoring the premises, responding to emergency situations, and keeping track of all incidents on-site.
Weekend Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday 6 am – 6:45 pm (12‑hour shift, 36‑hour work week).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to the Security, Safety and Loss Prevention Manager
Maintains and controls the entry and exit of all individuals entering the Dublin Distribution Center.
Checks visitors in and out of the area.
Monitors and analyzes CCTV camera footage.
Guards valuables in a secure area.
Protects the company’s assets relative to theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
Responds to alarms and emergencies.
Communicates any irregularities with management.
Records incident reports.
Follows procedures for fire prevention, traffic control, and accident investigations.
Patrols and secures the area as needed.
Escorts visitors around the premises.
Assists in investigations to resolve theft issues.
Ensures compliance with government regulations.
Responds to local burglary and fire alarm calls.
Participates as a member of the corporate crisis management and disaster response teams.
Reports all facility accidents and associate injuries to the Security, Safety and Loss Prevention Manager or his designee within 24 hours of occurrence.
Provides assistance to emergency medical teams as needed.
Completes all other tasks as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Skill: Interpersonal communication, verbal and written, with a diverse range of people; handling security situations; effective use of time and resources; independent problem solving; assessment of operational needs; ability to work long irregular hours under pressure; availability 24/7; team supervision of contracted security personnel.
Knowledge: Principles and practices related to security operations, personnel and administrative practices, safety prevention, investigative practices, supervision, assignment, evaluation and modification of work, and report content review.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Two years of Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Military, or Security experience (or a closely related field).
Five years full‑time experience in a security‑related field performing supervisory responsibilities or highly responsible work relating to tasks assigned to this position.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Mail.
