Opportunity:
As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of a portfolio of automation projects from initiation to final handover. You will lead cross-functional teams (design, mechanical, electrical, software) through the entire lifecycle from project launch to FAT, SAT, and customer sign-off ensuring delivery is on time, on budget, and in full compliance with user specifications. The position offers significant growth potential as the company strategically expands this business division, providing visibility and career advancement opportunities. This is a hands-on, commercially aware role requiring technical expertise, strong stakeholder communication, and the ability to manage complexity under pressure. This is a full-time role based on site in Co. Wexford, Ireland.
Responsibilities:
* Reporting to the Head of Production & Project Management.
* Own and deliver multiple projects from kick-off through to Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and handover.
* Manage project scope, budget, schedules, and risk from start to finish.
* Coordinate internal teams (design, build, wiring, programming) to deliver on project objectives.
* Act as the primary point of contact for the client throughout the project life cycle.
* Plan and conduct client meetings, technical reviews, and regular progress updates.
* Oversee and manage Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
* Ensure all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
* Log project hours and materials in the ERP system and track against budget to avoid cost overruns.
* Create and manage GANTT charts, action trackers, and risk logs to ensure full project visibility.
* Handle delivery of customer samples and support testing procedures as required.
* Proactively gather client feedback, resolve issues swiftly, and drive exceptional customer service.
* Contribute to our client’s growth by delivering repeat business through quality execution and trusted partnerships.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a project delivery role (e.g., Project Engineer, Project Manager).
* Hands-on experience delivering manufacturing equipment projects (e.g. packaging, automation systems).
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects across multiple disciplines (design, mech, elect, software).
* Excellent communication and client management skills.
* Strong planning, coordination, and documentation skills.
* Technically capable with proven problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
* Proficient in ERP systems for planning, tracking, and reporting.
* Ability to travel to site to customer sites to attend specific project events. (typically for 2-3 days).
* Background in automation or machine building is an advantage.
* Familiarity with Pharma validation: URS, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ, FDS, RTM is an advantage.
* Formal Project Management training (e.g. PMP, Agile, Prince2).
* Degree in Engineering or a Technical Business discipline.
* Experience with Lean methodologies or continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
* Full Irish Driving Licence.
Remuneration:
