Amazon's Enterprise Network team is looking to hire Network Engineers to help scale and automate one of the world's largest and most complex networks.
The Enterprise Network provides mission-critical global connectivity for internal services and business applications, data-center infrastructure equipment, and more than 1,000,000 internal users.
In this role you will seek innovative ways to automate and scale next-generation network architectures.
We are seeking an experienced Network Development Engineer to join a highly skilled team that designs and automates the growth of next-generation networking products deployed to AWS data centers worldwide.
You'll collaborate with software, hardware and network engineers, supply-chain specialists, security experts, operations managers and other vital roles.
Together we deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing limitless capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
Key Job Responsibilities
Be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all network fabrics that support the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services.
Deploy, scale and automate our network across many global data centers, including existing footprints and new locations.
Identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality.
Create simple, repeatable processes and improve upon existing processes.
Work closely with internal customers on designs and solutions, bringing those designs from concept to production.
Create and update network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
Work closely with our teams in defining the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.
Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and DNS/DHCP.
Experience in automation via Perl/Python programming.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, network security architecture and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, etc.
Experience with one or more of the following vendor platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Arista, Citrix, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.
Experience working with customers to diagnose problems, robust troubleshooting skills, and working toward resolution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
