As a Hull Artificer in the Irish Naval Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seaworthiness and structural integrity of our vessels. Your expertise in maintaining, repairing, and managing ships will be critical in keeping our fleet operational.
About the Role:
* You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and structural integrity of the vessel's hull, fittings, and associated systems.
* Assist in emergency response situations and exercises, including fire-fighting and damage control duties.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Be a citizen of the Irish State or have a legal entitlement to reside and work in the State for the period of any such appointment.
* Be of good character and satisfy any security clearance required during the recruitment process.
* Meet the required minimum standards of medical and physical fitness as assessed during the recruitment process.
* Be between 18 and 39 years of age on date of application.
* Hold one of the following qualifications: HETAC Level 7 Bachelor's of Science in Craft Technology (wood) with business, National Craft Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery, National Craft Certificate in Cabinet Maker/Wood Manufacturing and Finishing, National Craft Certificate in Shipwright, or a national equivalent qualification.
Recruitment Process:
Candidates will be invited to complete a fitness test and attend a competency-based interview. Those who successfully pass these assessments will be required to complete a medical assessment and undergo Garda Vetting.
Benefits:
A competitive basic salary of €57,955 with yearly increments. Additionally, Naval Service personnel receive an allowance of approximately €20,570 per annum.
