Role Overview
You will be a key member of the Preconstruction & Estimation team, managing workload to meet necessary deadlines. Your responsibilities include analysing project plans and specifications, preparing accurate estimates for mechanical systems, and collaborating with project managers and engineers.
Responsibilities
1. Analyse project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work required for mechanical systems.
2. Prepare accurate estimates of the cost of materials, labour, and equipment needed for mechanical systems.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other vendors to ensure that materials and services are priced accurately and competitively.
4. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop value engineering ideas to optimise costs and project schedule.
5. Coordinate with other traders to ensure accurate integration of all systems. Develop proposals and bid packages for mechanical systems.
6. Evaluate change orders and provide estimates for changes in scope of work. Conduct post-project cost analysis to evaluate and improve estimating accuracy.
Requirements
* Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mechanical estimating.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents and project plans.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Compensation Package
You will be paid at a competitive hourly rate between €30 to €40 per hour, typically for 40 hours per week, with any overtime hours worked paid separately.
