Overview

Responsibilities
Scale the digital ecosystem that supports millions of patients living with implantable cardiac devices.
Defend and raise the engineering bar in collaboration with PCS U.S. and India leadership by engaging deep in product strategy, driving complementary technology strategies, business cases, architecture standards, and decision outcomes.
Ensure architectural coherence through existing technology governance practices and documented decision records.
Champion platform lifecycle management health, reliability, and security‑by‑default practices and ensure technology strategies and roadmaps are assessed and refreshed on a regular cadence.
Attract and develop high‑caliber engineering talent; mentor emerging technical talent to accelerate their growth and confidence.
Operate at both the system level and cultural level, raising the bar while building trust across geographies.
Key Skills & Experience
Must Have
15 years of technical leadership experience, that includes research & development, software architecture, engineering, and DevOps OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 13 years relevant experience OR a PhD with 11 years of relevant experience.
Proven technology lifecycle practice experience and solid fluency across multiple technology domains: software, cloud, mobile, internet‑of‑things (IoT), AI, data and/or related tooling.
Track record of technical leadership and collaborative approach in driving technology decisions with product management, user experience, architects, engineers, functional leaders, and other stakeholders.
Proven ability to raise the bar with engineering best‑practice adoption/continuous improvement with both technical, process scalability, efficiencies & maintainability.
Able to lead complex technical negotiations in a global matrixed organization. Outstanding communication and presentation skills; high emotional intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience across all product R&D phases, including commercialization and post‑market in regulated industry.
Cybersecurity and risk‑management mindset: familiarity with cybersecurity practices, risk assessment, and vulnerability management expectations in regulated environments.
Demonstrated agile/scrum experience in start‑up and scale‑up environments.
Knowledge of cardiology and medical device industry.
Master’s in engineering and/or technical disciplines.

Benefits & Compensation
Medtronic offers a competitive salary and flexible benefits package. Pay range (Ireland): 130,800.00 EUR – 196,200.00 EUR. The position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP) and an annual long‑term incentive plan.
