Pernod Ricard’s consolidated sales amounted to € 10,959 million in fiscal year FY25.Role PurposeThe Proximity Category Manager is responsible for delivering the Sales Activation sourcing strategy across the UK, Ireland, and relevant affiliates.This role leads local negotiations, manages supplier relationships, and ensures effective execution of category strategies to deliver cost efficiencies, strong supplier performance, and compliance with procurement policies.The role plays a critical part in maintaining continuity across the Sales Activation roadmap and supporting both local and global business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesCategory Strategy & DeliveryExecute the Sales Activation sourcing strategy and roadmap across assigned affiliatesSupport delivery of global category objectives at a local levelEnsure alignment with business priorities and procurement strategySupplier Management & NegotiationLead local supplier negotiations and contracting activitiesBuild and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliersMonitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvementCost & Value DeliveryDeliver cost efficiencies, savings targets, and supplier optimisationSupport spend coverage and contribute to procurement KPIsIdentify opportunities to challenge demand and improve value deliveryOperational ExecutionManage sourcing pipelines, initiatives, and ongoing procurement activitiesEnsure continuity of delivery across planning cycles and projectsSupport execution of FY planning and sourcing eventsCompliance & GovernanceEnsure adherence to global procurement policies, procedures, and controlsMaintain governance through supplier reviews and performance monitoringMitigate risk related to supplier performance and contractual obligationsStakeholder ManagementPartner with internal stakeholders across marketing, finance, and operationsAct as a key interface between business teams and procurementProvide insights on market trends, suppliers, and category developmentsEssential CriteriaCandidates must meet the following:Experience in procurement, sourcing, or category managementProven ability to lead supplier negotiations and contract managementExperience managing supplier relationships and performanceDemonstrated delivery of cost savings or value improvement initiativesAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environmentStrong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skillsDesirable CriteriaThe following will be advantageous:Experience within Sales Activation, Marketing Procurement, or Indirect ProcurementExposure to working across multiple markets or affiliatesExperience supporting global category strategiesFamiliarity with procurement governance, KPIs, and reportingKey Skills & BehavioursStrong negotiation and influencing skillsResults-driven with a focus on delivery and outcomesCommercial awareness and analytical thinkingAbility to build relationships and influence stakeholdersProactive, organised, and solution-focused approachWhat we offerWe understand our people are our special ingredient and at different points, employees require different supports at different stages of their working lives.
