Their mission is to design and deliver world-class pharmaceutical and biotech facilities for pharmaceutical manufacturers.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to take technical ownership of large-scale CAPEX pharmaceutical projects. You will lead mechanical design teams through concept, FEED, detailed design and commissioning phases, ensuring GMP-compliant HVAC systems, process utilities, and cleanroom environments are delivered to the highest standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical engineering scope on major EPCM projects (€200M+) including cleanroom HVAC design to GMP standards (EU Annex 1, ISO 14644), process utilities (WFI, clean steam, compressed air), and piping systemsManage and mentor mechanical design teams, coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, and interface directly with clientsDevelop mechanical basis of design, equipment specifications, P&IDs, and oversee 3D model coordination (Revit MEP/Navisworks)Oversee vendor selection, FAT attendance, commissioning leadership, and cleanroom qualification through to handoverEnsure compliance with Irish/EU regulations, GMP standards, and client specifications while maintaining budget and schedule controlYour ProfileLevel 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years' experience in pharmaceutical/biotech projects, including minimum 5 years in a lead mechanical role on large CAPEX EPCM/EPC projectsStrong expertise in cleanroom HVAC design, pharmaceutical utilities, and GMP environments with proven delivery of greenfield or brownfield facilitiesProficiency with design tools (AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and deep understanding of GMP requirements, EU Annex 1, and commissioning/qualification protocolsExcellent leadership and communication skills. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status desirable
