About the Company
Large Building Contractor with a reputation for delivering projects across the Island and have a strong pipeline of work in the public sector and residential sector.
They have a requirement for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in General Building/ Contracting to join their team in their office in Co. Offaly.
This role would suit a QS with 7+ years’ experience working with a Main Contractor who has a background in new build residential and commercial developments.
The successful applicant will be working on exciting developments ranging in value between €5Mand €60MM – keen to chat to ambitious quantity surveyors with experience pricing and tendering for new jobs as well as overseeing ongoing projects.
The Role
* Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
* Ensure sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems
* Procurement of sub-contractors and preparation of sub-contractor order documentation
* Assessing and certification of sub-contractor interim payments
* Assist with estimations for new projects and tender process.
* Re-measurement of Bills of Quantities
* Lead and provide support/ mentorship to a commercial team
* Carrying out Material Take-offs
* Preparation of Interim valuations and final account
* Managing and valuing variations
* Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on contracts
* Establish, maintain and enhance effective working relationships
* Plan, allocate and evaluate work carried out by teams, individuals and yourself
What You Need
* Third level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction management.
* 7+ years’ experience with a Building Contractor in ROI or NI.
* Ideally will have knowledge and experience with Public Works Contracts
* Proven record of working on projects valued up to €10M+
* Proficient in Microsoft excel and project
* Driven Team player
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
