HSE Advisor Exciting Opportunity Cork Our Client Our client is a specialist manufacturer and global market leader, with staffing at the heart of their ongoing growth and success, currently looking to recruit a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to join their already talented team. The Role Reporting into the Site Lead, and the Regional HSE Manager, and with close working relationships with both, the HSE Officer shall be responsible for the following: Stay up to date with relevant legislation and ensure Site MD is informed of same Ensuring that a safe working environment is maintained at the site and is working in compliance with current Health and Safety legislation, best practice and approved codes of practice (ACOP) Ensuring that the site is working in compliance with current Environmental legislation and approved codes of practice Managing the risk assessment (RA) and safe working operating procedures (SWOP) process in line with business standards and current legislation, guidance and ACOP To deliver the site Health & Safety induction programme and ensure that the site is compliant with its H&S training. Manage the near miss and accident reporting processes for health and safety Ensure that the site Management team implement all corrective actions that have been established as part of an incident investigation and, within the agreed timescale Ensure that all health, safety and environmental documentation is current, compliant and up to date with the latest HSE format Identify underlying core issues/risks and engage at all site levels, both with colleagues, site technical staff and management within the site. Maintain the site register of Interactive Safety Tours (IST Conduct internal audits of the site To be a hands on Advisor with overall accountability for developing the site safety plan and the continuous updating and monitoring of the plan. To facilitate the tri-monthly site safety committee meeting Ensure that the site health, safety and environmental information boards are populated and up to date To collect and collate weekly and monthly Divisional HSE KPI data and repost externally Manage stocks of PPE and supplies relevant to the staff protection and well being Pursue Continual Professional Development in line with departmental performance objectives and act as a HSE Advisor to Site Management. Leading investigations of all LTIs and serious near misses, including root cause analysis with resultant creation of professional reporting and actions Key Skills and Experience It is expected that this role shall require the following pre-requisite skills: Hold relevant qualifications A working knowledge of formal Management systems Be an active member of IOSH or similar accredited professional body Must be able to communicate confidently and professionally at all levels within the organisation Must be self-disciplined and able to work automatously in bringing all projects and tasks to a suitable conclusion within agreed timescales Process good I.T. skills and be proficient in the use of word, excel and PowerPoint Experience of health and safety management in the manufacturing industry Professional HSE related Qualifications Additionally, Negotiating/Influencing/ Presentation and Decision Making Skills / Team work Skills: Health ^ Safety Manufacture Benefits: Pension, Medical
