HRM is currently seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Test Engineer for a premium contract engagement within a world-class automotive technology business unit.Located in Limerick, Ireland, you will support the cutting-edge Wireless Battery Management Systems (BMS) team. This specialized position demands a unique blend of formal systems engineering discipline and offensive security expertise.Operating within a collaborative, cross-functional environment, you will analyze complex wireless implementations to design and execute rigorous security test strategies that protect high-performance electric vehicle systems against evolving threats.ResponsibilitiesEnsure the ultimate security, reliability, and resilience of wireless Battery Management Systems (BMS) through comprehensive validation activities.Map threat landscapes by conducting formal threat modeling (STRIDE, TARA), attack tree analysis, and security risk assessments.Devise and execute advanced cybersecurity test strategies to uncover system vulnerabilities across the product lifecycle.Conduct offensive testing protocols including fuzzing, reverse engineering, vulnerability scanning, and deep protocol analysis.Partner with Hardware, Software, Architecture, and Quality teams to drive a robust security-by-design culture within an ASPICE framework.ExperienceMinimum BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (MSEE or MSCE preferred).Demonstrated expertise in automotive cybersecurity testing methodologies and formal systems testing frameworks.Hands‑on proficiency with offensive testing tools and protocols such as Wireshark, CANalyzer, AFL, libFuzzer, or Defensics.In‑depth knowledge of cryptographic protocols like symmetric/asymmetric encryption, PKI, secure boot, hardware security modules (HSM).Strong embedded C/C++ and Python scripting skills, paired with experience in wireless security (RF, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, 4G/5G, V2X), Git repositories, and CI/CD pipelines.Deliver high‑impact security solutions at the intersection of the electric vehicle revolution and green energy.Collaborate with an elite, highly sophisticated engineering team managing incredibly complex solutions.Enjoy a premier career destination offering high‑caliber technical challenges on next‑generation connected systems.Leverage HRM's dedicated Contract & Interim practice for seamless onboarding and professional contract management.To discuss this opportunity, please apply below or contact Shannon Begley at shannon.begley@hrmrecruit.com.
