About the Role
Noreside Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team.
In this key role, you'll lead the design and development of custom conveyor systems and industrial automation solutions.
You'll work closely with our production and project teams to bring concepts to life, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the highest standards of design quality and manufacturability.

What You'll Do
Lead the mechanical design of
conveyor systems
and automation equipment using
SolidWorks
.
Manage projects from concept through production, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
Mentor and support other engineers, setting best practices and maintaining design standards.
Liaise with the
production floor
to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable.
Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, controls engineers, and clients.
Drive continuous improvement in design efficiency, product quality, and process flow.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
5–10 years' experience
in mechanical design, ideally in
conveyor systems, material handling, or industrial automation
.
Strong knowledge of conveyor design principles
and best practices.
Advanced proficiency in
SolidWorks
(3D modeling, assemblies, and drawings).
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes — welding, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.
Strong communication, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work closely with production and cross-functional teams.
Desirable:
Experience with
PDM systems
(e.g., SolidWorks PDM).
Familiarity with DFMA principles.
Background in automation, drives, or control integration.
