Technical Specialist Role
\
We are seeking a skilled Technical Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new products.
\
Your primary responsibilities will include working with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. You will also test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test equipment, operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems, analyze and record test results, and prepare written documentation.

You will perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment, carry out activities in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer, these activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations.
\
You will follow company safety and lock out/tag out program. You will assume and perform other duties as assigned. You will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements. You will update equipment related documentations (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.

Requirements:
\

1. Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.
\
2. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
\
3. Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence.
\
4. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers.
\
5. Knowledge and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electro/Mechanical systems, Resistance welders, Packaging equipment highly desirable.
\
6. Experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime.
\
7. Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
\
8. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
\
9. Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
\
10. Technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development - Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation.
