ROLE: Customer Engagement Technology - COE Manager
REPORTING TO: Head of IT
LOCATION: Kilkenny or Dublin (Hybrid)
About the role
Our client is undertaking a major IT transformation to build and strengthen their in-house IT capabilities. Reporting to the Head of IT, this role will lead the Customer Engagement Technology CoE within the IT function. The role will manage the strategic direction, architecture, and operational excellence of platforms that support customer engagement and digital experience. Working in close partnership with Commercial Digital Transformation and Category stakeholders, this role will also be responsible for ensuring all technology investments deliver maximum value and align with business goals.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team managing customer engagement and web platforms (e.g., SAP C4C, Emarsys, Drupal, WordPress).
Define strategic roadmaps, architectural standards, and governance for platforms.
Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and alignment with customer experience goals.
Manage vendor relationships and collaborate with Marketing, Commercial, and Digital Transformation teams.
Ensure platforms are secure, compliant (GDPR), optimised, and deliver exceptional user experience.
Oversee lifecycle management, performance monitoring, and reporting on KPIs.
Support solution design, integration, and delivery of initiatives within scope, time, and budget.
Promote best practices, standardisation, and adoption of emerging technologies.
About the role / Qualifications
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Systems, or related field
Relevant certifications in SAP or digital platforms desirable
5 years + experience in a similar role, managing enterprise platforms in customer engagement
Strong understanding of SAP ecosystem (C4C, Emarsys, Hybris, SAP Commerce)
Experience with web hosting technologies (Drupal, WordPress) desirable
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships
Strategic thinker with hands-on technical capability
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience in the agri-food or cooperative sector advantageous
Familiarity with digital transformation programmes, and knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks desirable
Strong team player with a growth mindset
