Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Location: Waterford, Ireland
Work Model: Hybrid, x2 days on site per week
Salary: €45,000 - €55,000 per annum

Job Description:
My client in the financial services are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their dynamic team in Waterford. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing test scripts from scratch using Java and/or Python, with a solid understanding of version control systems. This is a hybrid role offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Java and/or Python.
2. Implement and manage version control processes.
3. Utilize Cucumber or Karate for behavior-driven development (BDD) testing.
4. Set up and manage continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins.
5. Conduct API testing using Postman to ensure robust and reliable software.
6. Perform database testing using SQL to validate data integrity and accuracy.
7. Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
8. Identify, document, and track bugs and issues to resolution.
9. Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and frameworks.
Requirements:
10. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
11. 4+ years of experience in software testing and test automation.
12. Proficiency in Java and/or Python for test script development.
13. Experience with version control systems (., Git).
14. Hands-on experience with Cucumber or Karate for BDD testing.
15. Strong knowledge of Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline implementation.
16. Proficient in API testing using Postman.
17. Solid understanding of SQL for database testing.
18. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
19. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
