Role Overview
The Part-Time Accounts person will play a pivotal role in supporting our finance department. This position is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in accounts and a keen eye for credit management. You will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, helping to safeguard the financial health of our business.
Key Responsibilities
· Processing sales and purchase invoices with precision and attention to detail
· Reconciling bank statements and account transactions
· Maintaining up-to-date ledgers and financial records
· Monitoring customer accounts and identifying overdue balances
· Contacting clients regarding outstanding payments in a professional and courteous manner
· Negotiating payment plans where necessary
· Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures
· Supporting ad hoc finance projects as required

Essential Skills & Experience
· Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
· Knowledge of credit control processes and procedures
· Strong numeracy and analytical skills
· Experience using accounting software (such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to build rapport with team members and clients
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
· Time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Desirable Attributes
· Experience in credit control within a small or medium-sized enterprise
· Familiarity with VAT and payroll processes
· Proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving
· Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures
