Job Title: Operations Manager Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Employment Type:Full-Time, on-site Salary:€65,000 - €75,000 DOE Location: Dublin, D11 The Operations Manager is responsible for the operational leadership of Universal Floral in Ireland, overseeing warehouse operations, national horticultural service teams, along with new installations and project delivery. The Operations Manager will lead the day-to-day management and performance of the Irish entity, overseeing all operational activities, fostering a positive, inclusive culture that enables the development of high-performing teams, and ensuring alignment with the companys overall strategy and objectives. Key responsibilities To drive operational performance through data-led decision-making, using clear KPIs across people, productivity, safety and cost to continuously improve results. Operational leadership - Drive a positive and inclusive team culture, ensuring the right environment, tools and support are in place for individuals to perform at their best and achieve shared goals. - Direct management of key operational functions, including warehouse operations, national horticultural service teams, along with new installation and administration. - Lead all HR related activities for operational teams, including performance management, end-to-end recruitment processes (interviewing, employment contracts, onboarding), training and development. - Address performance or conduct issues in a fair, consistent, and timely manner in line with HR policies. - Act as the key operational link between Irish site teams and company senior leadership, ensuring clear communication and alignment with company strategy. - Oversee workforce scheduling and payroll inputs. Client service and quality control - Maintain high service standards across all client sites, monitored through KPIs such as customer satisfaction surveys, service quality audit scores and SLA adherence rates. - Manage and resolve operational issues and client complaints, identifying root causes, with success measured by response times, resolution times and reduction in repeat issues. - Collaborate with the sales teams to support new contracts, ensuring all operational requirements and non-standard SLAs are clearly defined, implemented, and consistently achieved, with SLA performance tracked and reported. Safety and compliance - Champion a proactive safety culture, embedding health & safety into all operational activities and behaviours. - Ensure full compliance with Irish health and safety legislation, company policies and industry standards. - Ensure all required staff training is co-ordinated and kept up to date, including health & safety certifications (e.g. safe pass, manual handling, working at heights, and MEWP). - Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives, encouraging reporting, feedback and continuous improvement to foster a culture of accountability and shared responsibility. Fleet management - Ensure all fleet vehicles are maintained to a high standard, co-ordinating the servicing, repairs and compliance requirements, including CVRTs, are in date. - Manage fleet-related systems and tools, including toll tags, fuel cards and parking applications, ensuring effective control and cost management. - Act as the primary point of contact for vehicle-related incidents, including breakdowns and accidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal operational disruption. Financial oversight - Monitor and manage operational budgets, ensuring strong cost control and alignment with financial targets. - Track and analyse key operational metrics, including service completion rates, staff productivity, stock wastage, labour and logistics costs, while also identifying trends and improvement opportunities. - Drive cost efficiency and margin improvement, using data to optimise resource allocation, reduce waste and improve operational performance. - Partner with the head of finance and the leadership team on pricing models, ensuring they reflect the true operational costs and deliver sustainable margins. - Ensure adequate company insurance is in place for fleet, combined public and products liability and professional indemnity insurance. Requirements & Experience - Proven experience in an operations management role within a service-led or field-based environment - Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing multi-disciplinary teams - Experience in managing budgets, controlling costs and improving operational margins - Solid understanding of health & safety regulations, with proven experience implementing and managing effective safety systems and processes - Excellent organisational and logistical planning skills - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally - Experience in workforce planning, service delivery and operational optimisation - Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex operational challenges and client issues - Full, clean EU driving licence Other organisations call this role Ops Manager, Operations Supervisor, Operations Team Leader, Service Operations Manager, Warehouse Operations Manager, Area Operations Manager, or Head of Operations.
