Job Purpose The Senior Azure Dev Ops Engineer reporting to the Chief Information Officer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, applications and automation across the Ayvens Insurance Azure environment.
This senior role ensures high reliability, performance, and scalability of both infrastructure and application deployments, while supporting ongoing development initiatives.
Experience of Databricks, Azure Data Factory and full-stack application development is not required but highly beneficial for the role.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Azure Infrastructure & Operations Manage and administer Azure infrastructure, ensuring availability, security, scalability, and cost optimisation Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (Ia C) using tools such as ARM or equivalent Oversee resource provisioning, governance and standardisation across DTAP environments CI/CD Automation Architect, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops (Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts) Automate build, release, testing, and deployment processes for multiple applications and services Drive continuous improvement by implementing Dev Ops best practices and tooling Monitoring, Observability & Security Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Log Analytics and any other tools as required Perform proactive performance tuning, issue diagnosis, and root cause analysis Implement basic security controls such as role-based access management, secrets handling, and security scanning within pipelines Application Development & Support Collaborate with Ayvens Central Digital & IT engineering teams to support application lifecycle, deployment architecture, and environment stability Troubleshoot application-level issues and optimise Azure-hosted workloads Assist the existing ICT team with learning & development on the Azure platform Data Engineering Platform Integration Building and orchestrating data pipelines using Azure Data Factory Supporting analytics platforms or data processing workflows using Azure Databricks Implementing CI/CD automation for data engineering workloads Knowledge and Experience 10 years of experience in an information technology related field 5+ years working in Azure Dev Ops, Cloud Engineering, or related roles Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services and architecture Strong knowledge of CI/CD principles and Azure Dev Ops tooling.
Solid scripting skills (Power Shell, Bash or similar).
Familiarity with Git, branching strategies, and code workflow best practices.
