Role Purpose
The Graduate Manufacturing Engineer will support the development, optimisation, and control of manufacturing processes to ensure products are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role provides structured exposure to real-world manufacturing challenges and offers strong development opportunities within a growing engineering organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing & Process Engineering
* Assist in the development, documentation, and improvement of manufacturing processes and work instructions
* Support process validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ where applicable
* Participate in time studies, capacity analysis, and process optimisation initiatives
* Support introduction of new products (NPI) from design transfer through to full production
Quality & Compliance
* Work in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements
* Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
* Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections as required
* Assist with control of manufacturing documentation, routings, and change management.
Continuous Improvement
* Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects
* Assist with waste reduction, efficiency improvements, and standardisation initiatives
* Support data collection and analysis to drive evidence-based decision-making
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams
* Support operators with technical queries and process troubleshooting
* Liaise with suppliers on tooling, fixtures, and process-related issues
Health, Safety & Environment
* Comply with all Health & Safety requirements and support safe working practices
* Assist with risk assessments and implementation of safe manufacturing methods
Education & Experience:
Essential
* Bachelor's Degree (Level 8) in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
* Strong interest in manufacturing and regulated engineering environments
* Good understanding of engineering drawings and basic GD&T
* Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable
* Relevant internship, placement, or project experience in manufacturing
* Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
* Basic understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100)
* Exposure to CNC machining, assembly, or precision manufacturing environments
